Snapchat export, made usable

Snapchat gives you your memories… but not in a clean, ready-to-use folder.

When you export Snapchat Memories, you often get an HTML page (like memories_history.html) that references your media through links. For many people, it’s confusing, time-consuming, and easy to mess up.

What’s the problem?

Snapchat’s export isn’t always a simple “here’s a folder with all your media.” Instead, you can get an HTML file that lists your memories and points to your photos/videos through links. For many users, that means manual downloading, missing metadata, and a messy folder.

What we built to fix it

Zongedo Memories turns the HTML export into a clean set of files. You drop in the memories_history.html file, choose an output folder, and the app automatically downloads and organizes everything for you.

One file in

Drop in memories_history.html. The app finds the media links inside it.

Organized output

Choose how you want it stored: one folder, split photos/videos, or by year/month.

Local + simple

The export runs on your computer. No accounts, no uploads, no complicated setup.

How it works

The app reads your exported HTML, extracts each memory’s download URL, and saves it to your chosen folder. It also supports pausing/aborting, prevents double exports, and keeps the UI clean for non-technical users.

1) Parse the HTML

We scan the page and collect every memory entry (date, type, and download link).

2) Download efficiently

Downloads run in parallel (but controlled), so it’s faster without crashing your PC.

3) Save with structure

Files are written into folders based on your layout choice, and duplicates are handled safely.

FAQ

Common questions from people who just want their memories back in a normal format.

Does this upload my data anywhere?

No. The tool runs on your computer. You choose the input file and output folder locally.

Where can I get technical support?

Our instagram page is @Zongedo, you can DM us there for help!

Why does Snapchat give an HTML file instead of a folder?

Some exports are provided as a webpage that references files by links. This app automates turning that into a normal set of files.

What if it says “No downloadable items found”?

That usually means the wrong file was selected (not memories_history.html) or your export format differs. Make sure you picked the Memories history HTML from the Snapchat export.

Is this affiliated with Snapchat?

No. This is an independent tool intended to help users organize their own exported data.

Will you add Mac later?

The app is built using Electron + TypeScript to support Windows first, with Mac support planned.
